Program Options
There are two options for 2-K. The main difference is the setting and when children can begin school.
NYC Early Education Centers (NYCEECs): These are daycares, private schools, and other community programs that offer 2-K. Children must be 2 years old before they can start attending. (Example: If a child turns 2 on October 5 and the school year has already started, the child cannot begin attending the program until October 5, their second birthday.)
Family Child Care (FCC): These are 2-K programs run in a licensed provider's home. Children can start on the first day of school, even if they turn 2 later in the fall.
Use MySchools, to decide which program works best as part of the application.
