EPIC Working to Expand Enrollment in the Medicare Savings Program (MSP)

The Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage Program (EPIC) provides cost-sharing assistance to individuals with Medicare Part D coverage.  EPIC can assist with cost-sharing for individuals with annual incomes up to $75,000 and married couples with annual incomes up to $100,000. 

With the recent increase s to the Medicare Savings Program (MSP) income limits to 186% FPL, more New Yorkers are eligible for the MSP to help cover their Medicare costs. 

The New York State Department of Health, which administers EPIC, is working with Local Departments of Social Services, which administer MSP, to identify EPIC members who may be MSP-eligible. These individuals may receive MSP applications in the mail from the LDSS (HRA in NYC).  Please encourage your clients to apply for the MSP! 

The Community Service Society’s Facilitated Enroller program can assist with MSP applications. Those in New York City can call 888-614-5400 or apply online using the ACCESS HRA Client Portal.  Clients outside of NYC can call the agency that serves their county for assistance.
